More About Level IV Trauma Systems
To be designated a trauma center in Arkansas, health care institutions must agree to meet strict standards and undergo site visits. Level IV designation means that a center has the resources, capabilities and processes to provide screening and definitive care or stabilization and transfer of severely injured patients in remote areas where no alternative care is available, or stabilization while arranging for transfer to a Level I, Level II, or Level III facility that can provide further definitive surgical care.
